Welcome to the weekly roundup where I share with you interesting articles from across the web. I hope you enjoy and absolutely feel free to share and pass along.
Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the NextGen Wealth Weekly Roundup. Hope you’re having a great week!
Another week in the books and it’s already Friday again. As for happenings this week, well, let’s just say that the stock market has been a bit volatile.
The reason: tariffs. The market had already factored in a positive outlook on tariffs but that changed quickly after Sunday. With the possibility of tariffs increasing to 25% from the United States along with retaliation from China, the market didn’t take too kindly to that this week.
While I do think this is only a short-term hiccup, it is something we have to deal with but I do believe the two countries will come to a resolution. Now, whether that’s a week or a year from now, who knows. Until then, expect volatility when any announcement is made one way or the other.
So enough of my boring tariff commentary, let’s jump in and check out some of the best articles I ran across from the past week. Enjoy the weekend and find some time to relax.
First up, we turn to The Money Mix on some money mistakes that even six-figure earners can make. Let’s face it, most people will tend to spend in lock-step with how much they make. I have always been interested in alternative forms of energy. It's not that I'm a "tree hugger" on a social crusade for the environment. But if I could find a natural, cheaper (or even neutral) way to provide energy for our home, why wouldn't I? It would be a win-win.
If you're stashing away cash for your golden years, you're ahead of the game. A 2018 study by Northwestern Mutual found that one in three Americans have less than $5,000 in retirement savings. And what's even worse, one in five Americans have no retirement savings at all.
Planning for the future often takes a backseat to today's problems. Most people want to know their families are protected financially in case something happens to them. This is where having life insurance can make a big difference. However, there is conflicting information out there when it comes to getting a life insurance policy.
Enjoy the weekend and spend time with family and friends. Take a break from work and give your mind some well-deserved rest from the long week. Cherish the time you have with your family and I guarantee it will make your life much happier!
