Welcome to the weekly roundup where I share with you interesting articles from across the web. I hope you enjoy and absolutely feel free to share and pass along.
Our Kansas City Financial Planner Weekly Roundup
Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the NextGen Wealth Weekly Roundup.
Hopefully, you were able to take a little time off for Christmas and spend some time with family and friends. I know it was a well-needed break for me, especially after the craziness of the stock market over the last couple of weeks.
Speaking of the market, this roller coaster ride has been quite the bumpy one. From the worst Christmas Eve ever to the best day ever (points wise) after Christmas, we’re getting to experience it all.
Just think if you would have sold on Monday and then missed out on the huge rebound Wednesday. That’s exactly why you shouldn’t let your emotions make you do crazy things when it comes to your investments.
So, what will happen next week? Who knows, but it certainly can’t get any more volatile, can it? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, check out some of these gems I found from this past week. Enjoy the weekend and find some time to relax.
How Can You Tell if Your Auto Mechanic is Pulling a Fast One on You?
In our first piece, we turn to MoneyLogue where he shares some awesome info to help you find out if your car mechanic may not exactly be telling you the truth. If you’re anything like me, then you know that thought has crossed your mind. This is a must read IMO and I guarantee you’ll be better informed the next time you visit the mechanic.
Mike Spearman took his Honda Accord to the local dealer for a safety recall for faulty battery sensor. However, the dealer after the fix went ahead and carried out a free inspection of the vehicle. And to his surprise, Mike was presented with a long list of repairs his car would need.
23 MONEY QUOTES BY RAPPERS TO KEEP YOU MOTIVATED
Next up we turn to Millionaire Mob to give us some motivating quotes from rappers. Not necessarily the normal recommendation but one that I really enjoyed and wanted to share. These definitely put a smile on my face.
Honestly, if there is any place to keep you motivated about saving and investing your money it's to listen to rap music and fellow rappers. Here are some of the best money quotes by rappers to keep you motivated in achieving financial freedom. I've been a fan of hip-hop and rap music for quite some time.
Top Money Books Worth Considering
Next up, we turn to ESI Money for some awesome money books to get 2019 off to great start. If you’re wondering what you can spend your Amazon gift cards on, then give a couple of these a shot. Or, better yet, check them out at the library and save your gift cards for something else. Regardless, check out these reads.
There's something inherently difficult in having a "top ____" list/set/group/etc. Yes, they are full of great "whatever you're ranking", but each list is also very limiting. For instance, the famous Top Ten list. Good stuff, right? Of course. But what about #11? So close to the top and yet left out in the cold.
The Least Valuable Dollar
In our final read of the week, we turn to XRAYVSN to give us some fantastic food for thought when it comes to money. Certainly an interesting perspective and one you may not have ever thought of before. I know you’ll learn something new from this one.
What do you suppose is the least valuable dollar out there? I'm not talking about currency valuations based on various national economies. No I am asking on a more personal level. What do you think your least valuable dollar is? Give up?
