For many of us in life, regardless of what it might be, we typically try to figure how to do things by ourselves. It could be fixing the car, something around the house, or as we’ll be covering here, managing your own investments and finances.Financial Planning 101 Do I need a financial advisor infographic

At some point in our life, though, lack of time and knowledge becomes an issue. Most of us can figure out the basics of investing and financial planning, but eventually, you simply don’t know what you don’t know if it’s not your profession.

I’m by no means saying you can’t DIY it because many of you reading this today have probably gone that route and are doing just fine. As long as you have the time and passion to really dig into your personal finances to ensure you’re doing all the right things, you can certainly figure it out for yourself.

However, if you don’t fall into the DIY category and find your time to be lacking, then working with a financial planner might just make sense for you. And, I’m by no means saying everyone should have a financial advisor because that’s certainly not the case.

Many people have simple enough financial situations that it truly doesn’t take that much time to know what to do as long as you have the discipline. Again though, if you fall into the category of having a little more complicated financial situation or just know you need help and don’t want to do it yourself, then working with a reputable financial planner is most likely your best option.

With that said, it’s important to find one who’s right for you. This is someone you’re going to be working with for a long time so making sure the two of you vibe is crucial.

There are certainly other considerations to think about as well. As opposed to me boring you with every little thing possible you need to know, we’ve created what we think is a fantastic infographic that does a great job of explaining it.

From why you need a financial advisor to the benefits of working with one to tips for finding one, we’ve got you covered. Take a look below and let us know what you think.
